SDS was founded by Principal Renee Whiter who has 35 years experience in dance. Renee established the SDS dance school to offer students of all ages the opportunity to excel or simply participate socially in something that is both healthy and fulfilling.

SDS offers classes in Ballet (RAD), Tap (BAL), Jazz (BAL), Hip Hop (ATD), Highland (SDAA) and American Style Cheerleading. All of these styles are unique and give students the opportunity to study something that is both fun and diverse. All teachers at Sparkles are fully qualified and passionate about dance.

Students at SDS are offered boundless opportunities to excel and many of them do, both in exam, Eisteddfods, various competitions, workshops and the annual concert.

Students can be trained to a professional level, some have gone on to dance professionally and have studied at two of Australia's leading performing arts schools and performed in local productions such as High School Musical, Grease and Cats.

SDS has two fully equipped studios, both with professionally sprung wooden dance floors and full lenght mirrors.

The teachers at SDS pride ourselves in encouraging all students to enjoy their classes and to strive to be the highest standard they can be.
